Masonry and chimney repair in Baltimore

Chimneys, crowns, caps, repointing, porch steps, and brick work. Most of it is about stopping water before it gets into the house. MHIC #154344.

I'm often up on a roof, so a text usually reaches me fastest, but call anytime.

Brick and stone that keep water out

A lot of our masonry calls start as roof leaks. The chimney crown is cracked, the flashing is open, or the mortar has washed out. Water gets in at the chimney and shows up as a stain on the ceiling.

We fix the masonry and the flashing together so the repair actually holds. Chimneys, porch steps, mailboxes, and repointing on homes across the city and county.

Masonry questions

What masonry work do you do?

Chimney rebuilds and crowns, chimney caps, repointing, porch steps, brick mailboxes, and stone work. Most of it ties back to keeping water out of the house.

Why does a bad chimney cause roof leaks?

Water gets in through a cracked crown or bad flashing where the chimney meets the roof. From there it runs down into the attic and the rooms below.

Do you rebuild chimneys or only patch them?

Both. Small repairs when the brick is sound, and full rebuilds from the roofline up when it isn't. We'll show you which makes sense.

Do you install chimney caps?

Yes. A good cap keeps rain and animals out. See chimney cap installation.

Are you licensed for masonry too?

Yes. Same MHIC #154344 covers the exterior work we do, including masonry tied to the roof and the home.
